Participating in RRVF events, Miss North Dakota doesn’t take her role for granted

West Fargo, North Dakota – This year’s Red River Valley Fair will keep Miss North Dakota busy for a few days.
Sydney Helgeson, who is currently Miss Red River Valley, was named Miss North Dakota last month. When she crowns the new Miss Red River Valley, Miss West Fargo, and Miss Bonanzaville in the Miss West Fargo Scholarship Pageant on Saturday, that reign will come to an end.
Helgeson served as a judge for the food vendor competition on Friday, and on Sunday, she will take part in the Heroes Ceremony.
Helgeson stated that she does not take being Miss North Dakota for granted and that she is aware that many people, particularly young girls, look forward to her.
“I think it’s just important to hold yourself with grace and always have a smile on your face, treat people with kindness,” Helgeson said. “That’s really important for them to see older women doing.”
