Passenger commits suicide during a traffic stop in West Fargo

West Fargo, North Dakota – Sunday before noon, a passenger committed suicide while being stopped for traffic.

According to the West Fargo Police Department, the traffic stop started at the junction of Veterans Boulevard and 26th Avenue S. at around 11:30 a.m. Authorities momentarily detained the driver, but the passenger stayed in the car and disobeyed their orders from the scene. While the officers were giving more instructions, the passenger committed suicide with a gun.

The West Fargo Police Department did not report any injuries or fire any shots.

According to the authorities, there were probable grounds to halt the car because of a marital quarrel. On February 10th, West Fargo Police were also called to a domestic altercation.

The Fargo Police Department and additional first responders assisted the West Fargo Police.
