More resources are now available to North Dakota victims of domestic abuse

Bismarck, North Dakota – In certain areas of North Dakota, victims of domestic abuse now have greater access to forensic medical care.

A new state-funded pilot program and the passage of a Senate bill that allocated $250,000 in grant funds for the project are responsible for the service expansion.

The majority of the funds were used to fund forensic nurse examiners in central Dakota, who earlier this month started offering extended services in Williston and Bismarck.

A portion of the funds were also given to safe havens for Devils Lake families who had been victimized.
