Local law enforcement claims it is challenging to police the fireworks ordinance

Fargo, North Dakota – On July 4, the Fargo Police Department responded to 98 reports that were related to fireworks.
39 calls were received by the Moorhead police department today.
On the other hand, there were no detentions or citations issued.
In accordance with city regulations, anyone caught using fireworks within the city borders is subject to a fine of one hundred dollars. However, in order for cops to be able to impose that citation, it is necessary for them to observe the individual actually lighting the fireworks.
It’s the law in North Dakota, and it’s also the reason why there aren’t many citations given.
