Former Burke County teacher accused for sexual misconduct with minor

Burke County, North Dakota – A former Burke County teacher has been accused for sexual misconduct with one of her students.
33-year-old Katie Michelle Erdahl, of Flasher, was charged with corrupting a minor on Monday, Dec. 6. After paying $5,000 in bond, she was released.
The indictment arises from an investigation at Burke Central School in Lignite, a small town near the northern border approximately 90 miles northwest of Minot.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, investigators were called to the school on Dec. 2 after a male student between the ages of 15 and 18 claimed getting oral sex from Erdahl in the early months of 2021.
According to the affidavit, Erdahl, the boy’s teacher, informed officers that the sexual act happened inside her residence, which is owned by the Burke Central School District and is located on school property.
