Man who caused shelter in place won't be prosecuted

Fargo, North Dakota – After a crazy and dangerous night in the metro that began with a domestic dispute call and ended with a shelter in place, police detained one man.

It all began at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5 when police were dispatched to the 700 block of 14th St. N. for reports of a man discharging at least one shot into a house with a woman and kid inside.

A shelter in place was issued by authorities for people from 8th Ave. N. to Barrett and to College St. N.

The family was able to safely exit the house during the police standoff.

The man was located in Moorhead hours later and arrested. Authorities believe the man left the house before the arrival of police.

Around midnight the shelter in place was lifted.
