Williston Fire Department Responds to Mountrail County

Williston, North Dakota – On Saturday around 1:00, Mountrail County Emergency Management requested assistance from the Williston Fire Department and Williams County/Williston Emergency Management for an ongoing fire incident in the New Town neighborhood.
The event happened at a good pad run by Hess Corporation between New Town and Ross at the junction of 90th Ave NW and 55th St NW, where eight storage tanks caught fire.
The Hazardous Materials Response Team assisted WFD and Emergency Management with air quality monitoring. To help with the mitigation efforts, WFD and Williams County/Williston Emergency Management worked through the night. By 10:00 p.m., WFD crews started an inspection of the area to make sure the fire was totally put out.
At 3:51 am, WFD crews were able to completely put out the fire. After the WFD has all departed the area, Hess Corporation will carry out additional mitigation and cleanup procedures.
