Fargo, North Dakota – Road closures and detours are en route as several portions of the city prepare for repair work.

Between 4th Ave. N. and 7th Ave. N., a portion of 4th St. N. will be closed to through traffic as of Monday, July 31. The impacted area will be diverted via Broadway and 2nd St. N.

The purpose of this closure is to give specialized personnel access to the asphalt surface of 4th St. N. so they may do necessary milling and overlaying work. On Thursday, August 3, the road is expected to fully reopen and be open to the public, according to city officials.

Similarly, another maintenance task that would affect westbound 40th Ave. S traffic will start on the same Monday, July 31. Due to the need for surface repairs, the area between 47th and 51st St. S. will only have one lane.

Road users are urged to make appropriate travel plans and to account for anticipated delays during this time. It is anticipated that the lane will return to traffic on Tuesday, August 1.

Between 25th St. S. and 32nd St. S. on Thursday, August 3, a sizable stretch of 17th Ave. S. will be closed to through traffic. Drivers will have to use specified diversions that will take them to 13th Ave. S. throughout this time.

The purpose of this specific closure is to make the 17th Ave. S. asphalt surface grinding and overlaying possible. On August 10th, the road is anticipated to be fully operational and open once more.

In order to lessen congestion in the impacted areas during these temporary road closures, motorists are also urged to think about alternative routes and public transportation choices.
