North Dakota’s New COVID-19 cases concentrated in Fargo area

BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Thursday, March 25. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.
Statewide case rates
- NEW CASES: 199
- TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 888
- TOTAL CASES: 102,198
- TOTAL RECOVERED: 99,845
- DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 3.17%
North Dakota’s active case count increased by 94 on Thursday. Cass County, which includes Fargo, reported 93 new cases and has 45% of the state’s active cases. Nearly 70% of North Dakota’s active infections are concentrated in its four largest metro areas: Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks and Minot. The two-week rolling average positivity rate is 3.4%.
Hospitalizations, deaths

- TOTAL DEATHS: 1,465
The health department reported the death of one Cass County man in his 80s.
Vaccinations
- FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 213,350 (36.7% of population)
- COMPLETED SERIES (2 doses): 132,905 (22.9% of population)
North Dakota continues to be a national leader in vaccine distribution, with nearly 359,000 shots administered. Last week, the health department announced that it will open up vaccine eligibility to all North Dakota adults on Monday, March 29.
