Nick Horner was named Valley City Police Department’s next chief

Valley City, North Dakota – There is a new chief of the Valley City Police Department.
The City of Valley City has appointed Nick Horner as its Chief of Police. Tuesday’s Valley City City Commission meeting marked the official announcement of his appointment. The appointment was approved by the Commission 4-1.
Prior to joining the Valley City Police Department, Horner worked as a patrol sergeant and a community relations sergeant. He was employed by Renville County before he joined Valley City Police.
Horner was born in Valley City. He takes over for Phil Hatcher, who left the Valley City Police Department in August after 16 years of service.
