Horace man detained after brief pursuit on Monday morning

Horace, North Dakota – Following a chase that started just after 2:30 on Monday morning with Cass County deputies, a 29-year-old Horace man is now being charged with drug possession and escape.
According to reports, deputies attempted to stop Nikolus Schnellbach first in the vicinity of Horace for a possible speeding infraction. According to the authorities, Schnellbach did not halt, and the pursuit eventually ended in the Benedict area after briefly entering Clay County.
After eventually turning himself in, the suspect is now facing numerous counts, including Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle and Driving While Suspended.
Additionally, Schnellbach had outstanding warrants for DUI, drug paraphernalia possession, a hunting violation, fleeing in a vehicle, and revocation of probation. Additionally, Schnellbach received citations for possessing marijuana paraphernalia and less than half an ounce of marijuana.
