Hillsboro man taken into custody on multiple charges after an incident at Subway restaurant

Hillsboro, North Dakota – After being arrested over the weekend for brandishing a handgun on an employee at a Subway restaurant, a man from Hillsboro was charged with attempted kidnapping, felonious restraint, and menacing.
Mark Weibye, was taken into custody shortly after the Traill County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call early on Sunday morning.
An employee was cleaning windows when she said that a man approached her, took a handgun out of a jacket he was wearing, grabbed her by the arm, and began to drag her toward his pickup truck. She managed to escape.
Weibye underwent a mental health evaluation after being admitted to a local hospital.
Weyby is held without the possibility of bail pending his arraignment.
