Grand Forks County, North Dakota – A Minnesota man who caused a deadly crash in Grand Forks County has been sentenced to 180 days of electronic home monitoring.

When Tyson Horton, a 21-year-old native of Fertile, Minnesota, was traveling along Grand Forks County Road 7, a terrible collision occurred in September.

Thomas McWaters, 42, was killed when his car swerved into the oncoming line of traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle.

The eye injury that Horton received in the day before during a struggle, according to the prosecution, partially contributed to the crash by impairing his vision.

On Monday, Horton entered a guilty plea to negligent homicide. He was also sentenced to two years of probation under supervision.
