Fargo police report case of mailbox theft

Fargo, North Dakota – A case of mail theft has been reported to the Fargo Police Department. It took place at a house in the 1500 block of 22nd Ave. S. on last Wednesday.
Officers were called in response to a report that someone had stolen a check from a mailbox.
The U.S. Postal Service has been notified of the incident, according to the police, who claim they were unable to gather any video proof.
Theft of mail from a residential mailbox is a federal offense.
Police advise taking valuables straight to the post office if you’re worried about mailing them from your home mailbox. Police advise having expensive parcels delivered to a business or secure drop box when receiving them.
