Death of patient in Fargo care center under investigation, caregiver arrested

Fargo, North Dakota – A patient at a Fargo long-term care facility died more than two weeks after authorities claim an employee attacked the resident.
On Aug. 3, Fargo police officers were dispatched to Maple View Memory Care to a report of an assault on a person. The 59-year-old caregiver was arrested at her home in Fargo on Aug. 18 after an investigation was initiated.
She was being detained on accusations of putting a vulnerable adult at risk. The 78-year-old man victim died on Thursday, according to police.
An autopsy will be performed to determine if the man’s injuries had an influence to his death.
