Attempted robbery at Orton’s in Grand Forks

Grand Forks, North Dakota – According to the Grand Forks Police Department, an attempted robbery took place at Orton’s on Friday night. Grand Forks resident Marquais Burns, age 35, was arrested later that night in connection with the incident.
According to the report, a man used a handgun described as being black at the gas station before fleeing the scene shortly after 9 p.m. Burns was later stopped in the area of Rumor’s Bar at around 11 in the evening, and he was found to be in possession of a handgun that matched the description of the one used in the failed robbery attempt.
Burns was charged with attempting to rob a person, terrorizing a person, possessing a handgun that had been stolen, and driving with a license that had been suspended.
