Agriculture experts in North Dakota prepare for a potential avian influenza outbreak through 2023

Bismarck, North Dakota – The citizens of North Dakota are being warned by industry professionals that their state is at risk for a new outbreak of avian flu.
According to veterinarians, flocks kept in backyards are at risk of catching the virus because of the big numbers that migrate.
The producers are being encouraged to prevent wild birds from gaining access to the facilities and to ensure that the feed and water are not tainted.
The present virus is a strain that originated in Europe or Asia and arrived in the United States for the first time in 2018.
