Special Bismarck School Board meeting prompted by Eckroth resignation

Bismarck, North Dakota – Following Emily Eckroth’s resignation from the Bismarck School Board on Tuesday, the board will meet in a special session to discuss the resignation and decide what to do next.
Tuesday morning, Eckroth submitted her resignation from the board via email.
Since late January, a recall petition for her has been going around the Bismarck neighborhood. Recall proponents cited Eckroth’s traffic stop with police in September 2022, where she later admitted to impeding officers.
Eckroth had declared she wouldn’t leave the school board up until today.
The special school board meeting for today will be held by a conference call at 5:15 p.m. in the office of the Bismarck School Superintendent.
