Over 75 massage businesses complied with Fargo ordinance passed in 2021

Fargo, North Dakota – Discussions regarding unlicensed massage shops in Fargo are now still taking place at the leadership level of the city.
In December of 2021, the Fargo City Commission approved a new licensing and inspection regime and put it into effect.
The certification would indicate that the businesses have passed inspections conducted by the city and that they employ massage therapists who are certified in the state of North Dakota.
A total of 77 local massage businesses around Fargo submitted applications for licenses, and they were all approved for them before the September 1st deadline.
There are still 12 applications that have not been processed yet for a variety of reasons.
