ND Supreme Court ruled in favor of demolishing the rail bridge
Bismarck, North Dakota – The historic rail bridge over the Missouri River between Bismarck and Mandan will be demolished by BNSF, according to a decision made by the Supreme Court of North Dakota.
The South Central District Judge’s dismissal of a case brought by Friends of the Rail Bridge was upheld by the court’s ruling, which was made public on Thursday.
The community group contended that the rail corporation was not duly granted permission to demolish the existing bridge and erect a new one.
The group aims to preserve the antique bridge while supporting the construction of a new one.
The new bridge’s construction got underway last spring.
