More than a quarter of North Dakotans have gotten their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine
BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Wednesday, March 17. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.
Statewide case rates
- NEW CASES: 134
- TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 711
- TOTAL CASES: 101,284
- TOTAL RECOVERED: 99,114
- DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 3.6%
North Dakota’s active case count increased by 55 on Wednesday. Cass County, which includes Fargo, saw 57 new cases. The two-week rolling average positivity rate is 2.6%.
Hospitalizations, deaths
- ACTIVE HOSPITALIZATIONS: 16
- DEATHS, NEWLY REPORTED: 1
- TOTAL DEATHS: 1,459
The health department reported the death of an Emmons County woman in her 70s. Hospitalizations rose one over the previous day.
Vaccinations
- FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 183,832 (25.5% of population)
- COMPLETED SERIES: 107,890 (15% of population)
