BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota’s new medicaid fraud unit has filed charges in its first case.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem announced Monday the case involves the theft of narcotics at a long-term care facility in Pembina County. A 32-year-old Crystal woman is charged with theft of prescription medication and reckless endangerment. Charlotte Reilly was a licensed practical nurse at Borg Pioneer Memorial Home in 2017 when the alleged crime occurred.

Reilly was fired after she was accused of diverting prescription pain medication intended for residents and substituting patient pain medicine with over-the-counter medications.
