Hector International Airport’s new artwork makes visitors feel more welcome

Fargo, North Dakota – The ArtWORKS Program at Hector International Airport is in its fifth year.
This year, the airport received a brand-new addition made up of unique works by local artist Eric Johnson.
At Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Johnsons teaches visual concepts.
Johnson’s original artwork employs the printing technique known as reduction relief, in which one block is removed after each color application until the desired image is revealed.
“I think it’s just important to let people see art wherever. Art isn’t just for museums. The travelers will be maybe calmed a little bit by the site of the art.” says Tania Blanich the Director of Operations.
To welcome guests and locals, the original artwork is exhibited in the baggage claim area.
