Cass County, North Dakota – A four-vehicle collision on I-29 south of Fargo on Thursday afternoon resulted in one injury.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that the collision happened on I-29 in the northbound lane close to mile marker 52 at around 4:45 p.m., or seven miles south of Fargo.

According to the authorities, the collision occurred in an area that was still under construction, with traffic going both ways on the southbound side of the freeway.

Due to a mechanical issue, a Peterbilt semi-truck in the northbound lane became disabled, obstructing traffic. Four automobiles suddenly came to a stop when the semi-truck blocked the roadway, resulting in a chain reaction rear-end crash. The collision resulted in one minor injury.

While emergency personnel removed the involved automobiles, which produced a traffic hazard, northbound traffic was diverted at the mile marker 50 exit for roughly half an hour, while southbound traffic was delayed for almost one hour.
