When compared to other states, North Dakota has the highest DUI arrests

Bismarck, North Dakota – North Dakota has a rate of one DUI arrest for every six drivers that are registered in the state.
Due to these numbers, the state continues to rank among the top in this particular category.
The North Dakota State Highway Patrol estimates that there are between 3,000 and 4,000 people arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol each year in the state.
Almost 41,000 people were taken into custody in the previous year.
More than 27 hundred people have been taken into custody by the police so far this year on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
