Three people critically hurt in collision north of Makoti

Ward County, North Dakota – Just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, there was a collision near the intersection of Highway 23 and 338th Street NW, approximately 1.5 miles north of Makoti, that resulted in three critical injuries.
An SUV containing six passengers, including two children, was going south on 338th Street NW when it failed to stop at the stop sign at the junction, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Another SUV carrying two people was heading west on Highway 23 when it struck it.
The first SUV overturned and came to rest on top. There was one ejection.
Everybody involved in the collision was taken to nearby hospitals. From the SUV that rolled, three people had critical injuries: a 45-year-old male, a 41-year-old woman, and a 36-year-old woman. The other people only had minor injuries.
