Sci-Fi film series featuring robots, aliens, and creatures to be hosted at Fargo Library

Fargo, North Dakota – Science fiction films will be shown in a four-part film series presented by the Fargo Public Library at the Main Library beginning on Sunday, February 4.

Science fiction movies have been pushing the boundaries over the years by telling futuristic and imaginative stories that mirror life’s realities.

The films in this series have been chosen by local cinema critic Matt Olien, who will also explain each one and facilitate a brief conversation following the screenings.

Every movie starts at 2:00 pm and lasts for about an hour and a half. Movie names and dates are:

• February 4 – “The Thing from Another World” (1951)
• February 11 – “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” (1956)
• February 18 – “Westworld” (1973, PG)
• February 25 – “Alien” (1979, R)

Free popcorn will be served during the screenings. Children age 9 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. For more details, call the Main Library Information Desk at 701.241.1492.
