Rick Becker, a former state representative, attempting to abolish the property tax in North Dakota once more

Fargo, North Dakota – Rick Becker, a former state representative for North Dakota, is commenting on the latest initiative to do away with property taxes in the state.
“I think people, certainly legislators are very well aware that the number one concern of North Dakotans is and has been for several years property tax. The legislature has tried to give some property tax relief. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked. We’ve seen property taxes increase,” said Becker.
A constitutional petition being pushed by Becker’s group would let voters decide whether to eliminate the property tax in 2024.
According to Becker, the state has “one of the highest property taxes in the entire country.”
He anticipates that the secretary of state will approve the initiative proposal next week, opening the door for gathering signatures.
