Residents of North Dakota observe a balloon-like object circling the state

Bismarck, North Dakota – On Sunday evening, a peculiar sight was visible in the sky over North Dakota.
Just after six o’clock in the evening, a resident of Bismarck reported seeing a brilliant, circular object floating above the city.
The National Weather Service in Bismarck confirmed to Your News Leader that it is not one of its balloons.
According to the flight tracking website FlightAware, the item is a component of “Project Loon,” a business that used balloons to deliver internet service to remote areas.
As recently as Monday night around 8 p.m., Facebook commenters reported a sighting near Minot.
Commenters speculate that it might be related to the February sighting of the Chinese surveillance balloon over Montana.
These rumors have not, however, been verified.
As new information becomes available, we’ll update you.
