Lighting up the Fall at General Sibley’s Luminary Walk

Bismarck, North Dakota – Now that fall has arrived, there’s no better time to celebrate than now, before the temperature drops too low for outdoor activities. Approximately eight hundred people gathered for their yearly Luminary Walk this past weekend at the General Sibley Campground.
The whole family, including any furry pals, was invited to the park by the neighbors to enjoy hot cider, refreshments, and a pumpkin carving competition. According to Parks and Recreation representatives, the yearly event is a wonderful opportunity to bid summertime camping farewell and welcome autumn.
“We do it at the beginning of October every year, explains Bismarck Parks and Rec Recreational Specialist Spencer Aune, “as kind of our capstone to the camping season down here. It’s a community event, — we just give out snacks and cider, and light a little loop for people to come out and enjoy nice both a nice walk and a nice fall evening.”
The next pickleball social, dubbed “A Big Dill,” is being hosted by Bismarck Parks and is scheduled for October 17.
