Authorities request that buildings have clearly identified addresses

Minot, North Dakota – Ward County officials advise all homes and businesses to have a prominent address displayed.
Even in remote areas, Kelly Haugan, the county’s director of emergency management, stated that occasionally, 911 responders encounter difficulties locating the home or business number.
Time is of the utmost in emergency situations, he stressed.
“We want them in a contrasting color so they’re easier to see, especially at night or like I said, when the weather’s not the best,” said Haugan.
Although not flawless, he claimed that their electronic mapping system is good.
